Mission 89

Mission 89 is a research, education, and advocacy organization that fights the exploitation of young athletes through social and economic transformation

Every year, hundreds of thousands of children are smuggled across borders and sold as commodities, including promising young footballers trafficked by sham agents promising fame and an escape route from a cycle of poverty.

The Issue

Mission 89 aims to empower those most vulnerable to exploitation and counter the widespread belief that migration is the only solution that young footballers have to break out of economic uncertainty.

Mission 89’s first step towards ending the exploitation of young athletes is to launch a series of research projects which will be among the first independent in-depth investigations into the issue. Please consider donating generously to our research projects.
